On December 4 and 5, the PVAHA hosted 6 girls' Jamborees. We held 8U and 10U sessions at 3 locations: Rockville Ice Arena, SkateQuest Reston and Tucker Road Ice Rink. 173 girls had a great time playing small ice games. For many of these girls, this was their first girls only hockey experience. We had guest appearances by the Capitals’ Slapshot and the Maryland Black Bears' mascot Bruno.
As evidenced by the photos and videos, it appears that a good time was had by all.
The PVAHA has girls’ hockey opportunities for all skill levels. Many of our local associations have all girl teams at several age levels.
Associations that have Tier 2 and recreational girls’ teams can be found on CBHL.org as most associations have their teams play in the CBHL league, with girls’ teams from 10U to 19U participating at the various age level divisions.
The PVAHA also has a Tier 1/College Prep association, the Washington Pride, pridehockey.com. These teams play a Tier 1 schedule. More information can be found on their site.

The local scholastic league, MSHL, had its inaugural Girls’ Hockey season in 2019/2020. Four teams competed and plans are underway for growth.

In conjunction with local rinks and associations, the PVAHA hosts festivals for 8U girls who play in the 8U programs run by our local associations. If interested in hosting one, or if your daughter would like to attend one, please contact Pam Weiss. A festival was held in January at the Loudon Ice Centre.
Fun was had by all!
PVAHA sent 2 representatives to the summit where the focus was on empowering young women to help grow the sport. More information below.
In the recent Under 18 World Championship held in Bratislava, Slovakia, Lacey Eden, from Annapolis MD, led the U.S. in scoring with five points (2G-3A), which included a multi-point effort in Team USA’s 4-1 win over Finland and an assist on the game-winning goal the 1-0 win over Russia. Eden also paced U.S. Skaters in plus/minus with a +5 rating.
Lacey began her career playing for youth teams at Navy, then played for Tier 1 youth teams at Team Maryland and Washington Little Caps. She now attends Shattuck St. Marys and leads their college prep team in points.
Congrats Lacey!
